Pay as you go cell phones service is simply wireless phone service where you pay for your calls in advance. You don’t have to pay a deposit or go through a credit check and best of all you don’t have to sign a contract. Using a wireless prepaid service is simple. Since you can pay with any payment method the store accepts, including cash, there isn’t even any requirement for the cellular service provider to know your name.

Many people look at pay as you go plans as sub standard because the first phones were very low quality , cheap phones. Today you can still get an inexpensive phone but most businesses are giving customers better choices of phones and more features in their plans. Today pay as you go phones are steadily increasing in quality and there’s a whole world of additional options available to consumers. Phones are available in a wide variety and typically go for anywhere from ten bucks to almost two hundred.

To keep your service current , just refill your account whenever your minutes get low or before the expiration date. Refilling your account couldn’t be easier, just log in and register to refill online. If you make a payment before your expiration date, most carriers will roll any unused balance over to the new expiration date automatically!  Be careful though, if you do not make a payment before the expiration date, any remaining balance will be lost and you could lose your wireless phone number.

Hey Wait! Thats Not All!

This ain’t your daddy’s prepaid service. Pay as you go cell phone services now offer more than just the telephone…a lot more.

Most prepaid providers, like Verizon pay as you go cell phones, now offer text, multimedia messaging, email, web browsing and several other calling features like voice mail. Typically the carrier will have you establish an account from which the charges can be debited.  

You deposit money to your account by whatever payment method the carrier accepts and future services draw down the balance in the bucket. As long as there’s money in your bucket, you are good to go Most prepaid wireless providers offer the option to fill your bucket when you choose or you can set up an automatic transaction to occur whenever the balance gets down to a pre-agreed level. If you choose to fill it manually, they’ll send notification when the balance reaches or is approaching the low limit.

Some plans can be set up to renew automatically. For example you could have a set amount deducted from your bank account and applied to your monthly minutes. While this is similar to have a standard contract plan, you can cancel it at any time and not be penalized.

As more and more people are opting in for prepaid, the services and pay as you go cell phones will continue to improve.
